Season 1

01 - Pilot
The Pilot begins with Liz Parker who is shot in the Crashdown Cafe, dying on the floor she is subsequently healed by mysterious Max Evans.  Max, Isabel, and Michael then try to cover up the truth, but Sheriff Valenti is one step behind them.

02 - The Morning After
Liz continues to see Kyle, though she's attracted to Max as they adjust to the bond developing between them. Michael is obsessed with the alien who visited town back in '59. A mysterious substitute teacher arrives in town and has everyone on edge.  Michael, meanwhile, breaks into the Sheriff's office and finds a key that gives him a vision.

03 - Monsters
The aliens' vulnerability becomes apparent to Maria. Max takes a job that may help him discover his past.  Isabelle is concerned about Maria's fear of them and her nervous reactions to Sheriff Valenti, so  uses her power to control one of Maria's dreams to determine whether she can keep the aliens' secret. Meanwhile, the new substitute teacher, counselor Topolsky, holds career guidance sessions with the students; and Max meets a curator obsessed with finding aliens.

04 - Leaving Normal
Liz's Grandma Claudia arrives in town but is rushed to the hospital after suffering a stroke, prompting Liz to reach out to Max for comfort. When Max arrives, Kyle tells him to stay away from his girlfriend. Michael takes revenge on Kyle's friends who assaulted Max without Kyle's knowledge. Maria asks Isabel for help waiting tables at the Crashdown Cafe.

05 - Missing
Liz's journal, which she writes all her experiences in, vanishes. A desperate search ensues for the thief. Topolsky's masquerading is revealed.  Michael discovers he has a talent for painting as the vision the key has given him becomes clearer

06 - 285 South
Michael hijacks Maria's car after Maria joins him uninvited and they head to Texas in search of the geodesic dome that he's had visions of. Max, Isabel and Liz are hot on their tail but unfortunately they're not the only ones in close pursuit.

07 - River Dog
With Topolsky closing in on the hidden room at Atherton's geodesic dome, the gang narrowly escapes with files and a pendant that Isabel spots on a small statue. The files are stolen from Max's house but Isabel still has the necklace. This becomes a key piece of the puzzle.

08 - Blood Brother
Max is injured in a car accident and taken to a hospital, where a sample of his blood is drawn. This forces Michael and Liz to find a way to replace the sample with a the help of Alex's blood. After Max is discharged, Michael discovers Topolsky's agents searching Max's hospital room for the evidence. Alex comes across the evidence they have been looking for regarding Topolski's real identity. 

09 - Heat Wave
A spell of hot weather produces romantic feelings between Michael's and Maria which heats up their relationship. Kyle finds a new girlfriend as Liz's infatuation for Max intensifies. Sheriff Valenti starts to see Maria's mother (Diane Farr), who he once arrested, and Isabel goes into one of Alex's dreams, only to find Alex's real feelings for her.

10 - The Balance
Michael discovers a picture of the cave drawings in Max's notebook and sets out to find Riverdog, only to return home sick after participating in a Native American ritual. Max and Liz go on their first date, and Alex slips up in front of Milton.

11 - The Toy House
Max's mother causes a grease fire that threatens her life and gets a momentary look  at Max using his power to put out the fire.  She then starts to question his secretive nature. Liz helps Kyle after he's injured during a basketball game, but this makes Max jealous. Isabel pressures Max to reveal their secret to their mother.

12 - Into the Woods
A bright flash of light in the sky is witnessed by several people in the woods near Riverdog's reservation.  This captivates Max and Isabel so they find the perfect opportunity to investigate the incident during a school camping trip. Liz is forced to endure the outing with her father and pays Maria to accompany them.

13 - The Convention
A convention at the UFO Center attracts an alien hunter who claims to know what really happened the night of the 1972 murder that ended the career of Sheriff Valenti's father. A witness of the shooting in the Crashdown re-appears and tries to sabotage the cover up. Max takes on extra duties at the center to help keep his mind off of Liz. Maria's mother organizes a wrestling match that features a mystery performer. Jonathan Frakes appears as himself.

14 - Blind Date
Liz wins a radio contest and her prize is a blind date with a guy the station selects using her criteria. The catch is that the couple's activities are reported live by the DJ.  Maria joins Alex's band as the lead singer and proceeds to take over, making major changes just before an important tryout.

15 - Independence Day
Michael shows up at school with a black eye after a violent encounter with his foster father. Isabel urges him to report the incident, but Michael is reluctant to draw attention to himself. Meanwhile, Maria and Liz experience an embarrassing run-in with Sheriff Valenti when they catch him making out with Maria's mother.

16 - Sexual Healing
Liz and Max finally give in to their feelings for each other, and their kisses leads to them receiving visions. Liz sees images that may be Max's memories of his trip to Earth, while Max experiences visions of Liz's past. Michael and Maria experiment with their own make-out sessions, and Isabel despairs in her solitude, considering a relationship.

17 - Crazy
FBI agent Topolsky returns to warn Liz that a covert alien hunter inside the Bureau is pursuing Max and his friends. She also tells her that he will stop at nothing to get what he wants. Isabel befriends a new female student who immediately arouses Max and Michael's suspicions.

18 - Tess, Lies and Videotape
Max develops an uncontrollable attraction to Tess that includes intense sexual daydreams, and Sheriff Valenti learns that Topolsky was killed in a suspicious fire. Meanwhile, someone has secretly placed a video camera inside Michael's apartment.

19 - Max to the Max

With Tess's help, Max, Isabel and Michael discover the pod chamber where they were born. They realize their destiny has been predetermined when they view the book from Tess, which contains pairings of Michael with Isabel, and Max with Tess. They also realize they were engineered, and not born as they thought. Tess then reveals Nasedo is there to protect them from the alien hunter, Pierce, they now know is out there.

Wanting to flush out Pierce, Nasedo takes the form of Max and kidnaps Liz. Once on the road, Nasedo-Max leaves clues as to where he can be found. Liz soon realizes the man she's with is not the real Max.

20 - The White Room

Max is interrogated and tortured by Agent Pierce, but is able to keep his true identity hidden. Agent Pierce shows Max the orb communicator he has had in his possession and demands to know where the other one is.

Michael, Isabel, Nasedo and Tess join forces to save Max. Nasedo teaches Michael that he has more power than he ever knew; he just needs to learn how to channel it. Tess also reveals she has the ability to mind warp people, causing them to see what's not really there.

21 - Destiny

 

After escaping from the FBI, Valenti orders the kids to meet him at an abandoned mill where they can regroup. Max and Liz are separated from the group, and Max tells Liz he has control over his own destiny no matter what any book says. The two then declare their love for each other.

Fearing Max and Liz may have been caught, Valenti and Michael go in search of them. Michael has to use his powers in front of Valenti in order to rescue Max and Liz from the FBI agents. Valenti soon discovers the true alien identities of Max, Michael, Isabel and Tess.

Max then devises a plan to capture Agent Pierce by using Valenti as a decoy. With Pierce in their hands, Max turns the tables and interrogates Pierce as to the whereabouts of the missing Nasedo.

Season 2

1 - Skin and Bones

The second season begins as a geologist finds the buried bones of Agent Pierce and brings them to Sheriff Valenti. The lawman then tries to cover up the case, but encounters interference from an eager Deputy Hanson. Meanwhile, Nasedo discredits the Special Unit during televised Congressional hearings.

 

2 - Ask Not

Max struggles with his new role as the sole leader of the alien quartet. Michael aggravates the situation by questioning Max's plan, which calls for them to try to blend in. Meanwhile, Kyle returns home from football camp with a new attitude, and Max discovers that Milton has left the UFO Center. 

 

3 - Surprise

Isabel's friends throw her a surprise birthday party at the Crashdown Cafe, but a mysterious headache and hallucinations of Tess in jeopardy grip the alien teen during the festivities. Meanwhile, Liz discovers that Congresswoman Whitaker has been recording Liz's personal phone calls at work.

 

4 - Summer of '47

Michael interviews a WWII veteran from Roswell for a school paper and gets a first-hand account of the alien crash of 1947. Cast members portray the tale's participants in flashback segments.

5 - The End of the World

Max travels back in time from the year 2014 to the present to warn Liz that their personal relationship will result in Earth's conquest by alien forces. Meanwhile, Michael begins to suspect that Courtney is not who she appears to be.

 

6 - Harvest

Max, Liz, Isabel and Tess head to Arizona to find a secret organization called the Universal Friendship League that Congresswoman Whitaker belonged to. Meanwhile, Michael and Maria hunt for a missing Courtney. 


7 - Wipeout

Most of the residents of Roswell disappear after a green pulse from the sky descends on the town, leaving only the alien quartet, Courtney, Liz, Maria and the Valentis behind to solve the mystery. The situation gets worse after Liz finds evidence of a Skin in the area.


8 - Meet the Dupes

After murdering their leader, aliens resembling Michael, Isabel and Tess travel to Roswell from New York to persuade Max to attend a summit with leaders from other planets. Elsewhere, Brody is attracted to Maria, whom Michael begins to take for granted. 


9 - Max in the City

Max and Tess travel to New York City, where Rath takes Max to meet an enigmatic individual called the Emissary, who tests Max's claim to the throne. Elsewhere, Maria tells Liz about a rumor going around school that Liz slept with Kyle.

 

10 - A Roswell Christmas Carol

It's not such a wonderful life for Max after he allows a man to die rather than use his powers in public to save him. A car strikes a holiday shopper (John Littlefield) who pushed his daughter out of the path of the vehicle. As the man lies dying on a crowded sidewalk, Max resists the urge to help him. The man's ghost then haunts the alien teen (the only one who can see him), demanding that Max do something to “restore the balance” for letting him perish. 
A more mundane Christmas crisis plagues Michael. He agonizes over a present for Maria, since he neglected to get her any gift at all last year.

 

11 - To Serve and Protect

When Isabel develops a psychic connection with a mysterious young girl who has been kidnapped and buried alive, she, Max and Sheriff Valenti race to find her before it's too late.

 

12 - We Are Family

Sheriff Valenti is suspended from the force after refusing to answer the FBI's questions about Max and Isabel, but finds himself dragged back into the kidnapped girl Laurie DuPree's (guest star Allison Lange) case after Laurie shows up at his house claiming to be chased by aliens.

 

13 - Disturbing Behaviour

While Michael and Maria flee Roswell after helping Laurie DuPree (guest star Allison Lange) escape from the police, Max learns that a deadly parasite was released into the Earth’s ecosystem when their ship crashed 50 years ago and contacts an otherwordly ally for help. 

 

14 - How the Other Half lives

In the conclusion of a four-episode story in which the aliens find out about their human origins, Max is busy trying to rescue Alex and Kyle from being buried alive, while Isabel is kidnapped and Michael is shot trying to protect Laurie (guest star Allison Lange) from an evil alien force.

 

15 - Viva Las Vegas

The gang takes a wild, spur-of-the-moment road trip to Las Vegas intent on spending the corrupted DuPree money, but Michael and Max end up facing off in a final showdown about leadership and friendship, ultimately landing the two of them in jail. 

 

16 - Heart of Mine

Liz and Sean's friendship grows, while Prom night approaches for everyone.  But Max asks Liz to go with him, and Michael tells Maria he is not going.  Maria sees something regarding Michael that she does not like but all is not what it seems. Liz and Max fight, Michael and Maria make up, Max and Tess become closer, as do Isabel and Alex.

 

17 - Cry Your Name

Liz and Maria help Alex to resist the temptation to go on a date with Isabel.  Later Alex orders pizza and becomes really depressed when the delivery guy arrives. Then there is a traffic accident involving Alex. Liz is quick to assume that there is a conspiracy and that Alex has not committed suicide.  She alienates her friends as more evidence appears.

 

18 - It's Too Late And It's Too Bad

Liz continues her crusade to uncover the truth about Alex and the accident.  Isabel is determined to go away to College but Max is insistent that she does not leave them or Roswell.  Max and Tess become involved as Max remembers more about their home world. Max is now alienating everyone except Tess who stands by him.  Liz is about to leave Roswell for Sweden when she receives an intriguing phone call.

 

19 - Baby It's You

Liz enlists the help of Maria to track down the truth as to Alex's death.  Max and Tess become the closest yet and awake in the observatory. Isabel is still moping around because of the argument with Max but Kyle attempts to cheer her up.  Liz and Maria go on a trip to further investigate Alex's death and find more evidence that it could be aliens involved.  Max receives some news from Tess.

 

20 - Off The Menu

While using a virtual reality simulation program, to try to recall what happened to him when he was abducted to New York, Brody is electrocuted and can suddenly access Larek’s memories. He then takes hostages in the UFO Center, demanding the truth from Max.

 

21 - The Departure

The Royal Four need to get Tess home to save the baby, but once they activate the granilith they only have 24 hours to say goodbye to all the people they love, knowing they will never see them again, since it’s a one way ticket home.

 

Season 3

 

1 - Busted!

Max and Liz are arrested and jailed for holding up a convenience store. Meanwhile, Isabel has a secret affair with a handsome attorney, and Michael tries to straighten out his life.

 

2 - Michael, the Guys & The Great Snapple Caper

Michael works as a security guard, but when he tries to loosen up his co-workers, he causes more harm than good. Meanwhile, Max and Liz continue to see each other despite her parents' wishes.

 

3 - Significant Others

With Alex's ghost as her guide, Isabel must finally confront her fears about love and her conflicted feelings for Jesse. Meanwhile, Maria happily discovers a whole new, human part of Michael in, of all places, a bowling alley.

 

4 - Secrets & Lies

Max travels to Hollywood while investigating a murder he believes was committed by an alien. He discovers a link to a Paramount science fiction show called "They Are Among Us" and when he goes to the Paramount lot to investigate he ends up auditioning for the part of an alien on an episode of "Enterprise" directed by Star Trek alum, Jonathan Frakes.

 

5 - Control

Max, with the help of Kal Langley, undertakes a dangerous journey as he seeks to learn of the fate of Tess and his son. Meanwhile, back in Roswell, Isabel and Jesse must face the negative reactions of their parents and friends to their impending marriage.

 

6 - To Have and To Hold

Right before her wedding, Isabel is torn with doubt when she has erotic dreams of her former alien lover, Kivar. Meanwhile, a reluctant Max agrees to serve as Jesse's best man, while attempting to investigate him at the bachelor party.


7 - Interruptus

After their idyllic wedding, Isabel and Jesse are stalked on their honeymoon by her alien lover Kivar who plots to take her back to their home planet. Learning of this, Max and Michael arrive intent on destroying the alien. Meanwhile, Liz and Maria discover that Philip has begun a secret investigation of Max, including the diappearance of Tess, and he's embroiling Liz's dad into the whole thing.


8 - Behind the Music

When an old love visits Maria her passion for music resurfaces, which jeopardizes her relationship with Michael. Meanwhile, while Max's father is still trying to put together all the pieces of his investigation, Isabel joins Max in the quest to stop him.

 

9 - Samuel Rising

When Max is fascinated by an intriguing autistic child he wonders if his own lost child is attempting to reach out to him. Meanwhile, Michael plays Santa to Maria and Liz's elves at a charity event. Isabel and Jesse share their first holiday together as husband and wife.

 

10 - A Tale of Two Parties

In an attempt to find Roswell's legendary New Year's Rave, Max and Maria join forces. Meanwhile, Liz connects with her father and Isabel helps Kyle find the perfect date for New Year's.

 

11 - I Married an Alien

When a journalist friend of Jesse's comes to Roswell, Isabel discovers he's investigating her, Max and Michael, after he witnesses Michael using his powers. Meanwhile, Isabel fantasizes about what her life would be like if Jesse knew her alien secret through the device of a 1960s sitcom a la "Bewitched".

 

12 - Ch-Ch-Changes

When Liz begins to undergo some strange, alien-like changes to her body, she decides she needs to get as far from Max as she can. In order to separate from him she must leave Roswell to go to boarding school in Vermont. Meanwhile, Maria gets offered a recording contract in New York, but she isn't sure she likes what the record label people are doing to her music to make it "popular".

 

13 - Panacea

Michael uncovers a conspiracy at Metachem, when a guard is killed on duty. Michael enlists the aid of Max and Isabel when the investigation takes an alien turn. Meanwhile, Liz has entered boarding school in Vermont and tries to start a new life, and Maria disillusioned by New York goes to visit Liz in Vermont.

 

14 - Chant Down Babylon

Michael, Jesse and Valenti call on a discredited doctor to help the wounded Isabel. Also, Clayton Wheeler undergoes an amazing transformation and soon finds himself drawn to Liz; and Jesse quizzes Michael about Isabel's alien roots.

 

15 - Who Died and Made You King

When the gang attempts to return to their normal lives, they soon find that their lives have gotten a lot more complicated, which includes Jesse attempting to come to terms with his newfound knowledge but matters are complicated when he finds himself under FBI scrutiny, and Max's "death" creates a unique situation within the alien authority structure, resulting in a new King...Michael.

16 - Crash

Michael witnesses a fatal crash between a fighter jet and an alien vessel, and embarks on his own investigation leading to the recovery of an artifact. Meanwhile, Isabel spends the day with her mother, who's harboring a secret agenda and is working with her husband to discover Max & Isabel's secret, which leads to a shocking revelation.

 

17 - Four Aliens and a Baby

Max's quest to find his son ends with the return of Tess and the baby, and the gang find themselves in danger again while trying to protect the child. Meanwhile, Jesse encourages Isabel to reveal her true origins to her parents, and the elder Evanses provide a way to ensure their grandchild's safety


18 - Graduation

As their high school graduation approaches, the gang must come to terms with their expectations for the future, while joining together to thwart the FBI when they discover that several members of the group are under surveillance. Meanwhile, Liz begins exhibiting even more alien-like powers, that cause her to see visions of their future - including their deaths.
